At the age of five I started my musical education by playing violin in a Suzuki class and at the age of nine I started having guitar lessons. After quickly falling in love with the instrument I spent time listening to records and learning the songs of Ramones, The Clash and Nirvana. Already at the age of eleven I had three different guitar teachers and also took my first baby steps in music production exploring the early DAW Hiphop eJay.

It’s still a great memory hearing Jimi Hendrix for the first time from VHS-player and possible an even more exciting experiencing Yngwie Malmsteen for the first time and that made me spend my high school days studying the style of heavy metal and blues. I had a great teacher, Göran Söderqvist, that was mentoring me to learn quickly and we would later form a band together.

After somehow mastering the style of playing fast shred-guitar I moved on to jazz when I started at the Music Studies Program at the upper secondary school in Lund. As a side project I was learning Gypsy Jazz and after meeting Andreas Öberg on a Mattias Eklund’s Freak Guitar Camp I was invited to play at the Django Festival in Eskilstuna in 2008. At the festival I met Martin Taylor, Robin Nolan and also had a backstage jam sessions with the Dutch guitarist Nomy Rosenberg. I the advantage of having a couple lessons with Andreas Öberg and he was a big inspiration to become both a jazz guitar and a songwriter. During this time I also frequently played jazz gigs a bandleader and as I graduated received a scholarship from the jazz association ‘Malmö Jazzhouse’.

In 2011, one year after finishing high school, I was accepted at Malmö Academy of Music to study jazz music and music pedagogy. During the education I deep studied guitar, music theory and ear-training and learned basic knowledge of other instruments. I also made sure to catch up for lessons with some of the worlds best guitarists whenever they visited Copenhagen for touring. Those years included lot’s of practicing and jam sessions with friends, playing gigs, several times a month visiting places Copenhagen Jazzhouse or Jazzhus Montmartre to fully immerse ourselves in music. To perform with Kathrine Windfeldt’s Big Band at the Børneteater in Christiania is one of many great memories.

2017 was the year I visited New York for the first time. Me and a friend attended approximately 40 concerts in two weeks and for the next two years I would travel regularly to the city to hang out with musician friends, go to concerts, have lessons but most notably jam and record with the painter Michael and poet Yonat Hafftka. We recorded improvised experimental music and the relationship provided an invaluable guidance in creativity and artistry. At the same time I had been growing an interest in songwriting and Hafftka’s mentorship provided fuel into the development of my songwriting.

The same year my musical interest developed in a new musical area as a childhood friend of mine received his first job at the London office of Domino Record Company working with bands and artists like Artic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Blood Orange. This gave me a direct link to the alternative pop scene of the city. While visiting the city I got to hang out with and make music with people of the underground music scene and back home in Sweden I soon started a collaboration with the Swedish indie artist Summer Heart that would be featuring me together with the London rapper Jian Bo on my first single called ‘Sunslide’ that also led me to a record deal with the Stockholm label ‘Something Beautiful Recordings’.

Since then I’ve continued doing songwriting sessions and different musical collaborations both as a guitarist and songwriter. My current musical focus is developing a new concert concept and network-event for musicians and music lovers at the reputable art museum Skissernas Museum in Lund, Sweden.
